Rebutia Muscula
Rebutia muscula
📖 About this plant
Rebutia muscula, known as the Crown Cactus or Fire Crown Cactus, is a diminutive cactus from the high Andes that produces an absolutely jaw-dropping floral display. The tiny, round, dark green body rarely exceeds 8 cm tall but in spring erupts with enormous, brilliant orange-red flowers that are nearly as large as the plant itself — sometimes even larger! The dense covering of fine white spines and woolly areoles gives the body a frosty appearance that perfectly contrasts with the fiery blooms. It freely produces offsets, forming charming clusters that can produce dozens of flowers simultaneously, creating a breathtaking miniature firework display.
