Bruguiera parviflora
📖 About this plant
Bruguiera parviflora (small-flowered mangrove or ‘Dot’ in Odia) is a medium mangrove tree of the Rhizophoraceae family. The tree produces knee roots (pneumatophores) for gas exchange in waterlogged mangrove mud, and small viviparous propagules. Bark yields high-quality tannin for leather. Wood is hard and used for charcoal and construction. The tree is found in the Sundarbans and other Indian mangrove forests.
